Often called learning disabilities these are usually recognised when you are a child:
A
Aspergers - Eccentric behaviour, problems socialising or preferring to be alone
Attachment Disorder - Uneasy in social situations, impulsive and angry.
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD or ADD - unfocused, hyperactive, forgetful, disorganised, inattentive.
Autism - Poor communication skills and social interaction, behaviour is repetitive and restricted.

Conduct Disorder - agressive towards people and animals, breaks rules, destructive, lies and steals.
D
Disorder of Written Expression - writing skills are so bad everyday life becomes hard.
E
Expressive Language Disorder - speaking skills are so bad everyday life becomes hard.
M
Mathematics Disorder - Despite being academic struggles to grasp mathematical skills no matter how easy they are to learn.
Mental Retardation - Poor intellect. Low ability when performing tasks in more than two of these areas:
- communication -
- self-care - (e.g poor hygiene)
- home living - (e.g unsanitary home environment)
- social/interpersonal skills - (e.g very poor social skills)
- use of community resources - (e.g
- self-direction - (e.g
- functional academic skills - (e.g struggles at school/college)
- work - (e.g poor performance at work)
- leisure - (e.g
- health - (e.g
- safety - (e.g little or no concept of safety).
O
Oppositional Defiant Disorder - negative, defiant, disobedient or hostile behavior toward adults and authority figures (e.g teachers).
P
Pica - Extreme eating of foods with little or no nutritional value (not good for your health, e.g sweets).
R
Reading Disorder - When reading speed is low, words are often said wrong and understanding of the text is poor.
Rumination Disorder - Repeatedly chewing and regurgitating food because the activity is fun/pleasing.
S
Selective Mutism - Refusing to speak when speaking is expected (e.g at school or with friends) and home/school life is jeopardised.
Separation Anxiety Disorder - Inactive in public, difficulty concentrating on work, extreme sadness is present when away from the home or parental figure(s)
Stereotypic Movement Disorder - Repetitive behaviour in any of these areas:
- hand shaking/waving
- body rocking
- head banging
- mouthing/sucking of objects
- self-biting
- picking at skin/bodily orifices (any hole on the body)
- hitting own body
Stuttering - Speed and frequency of speech is below that expected for your age. Some syllables may be repeated multiple times before the rest of the word.

Tourette's Disorder - Uncontrollable vocal/physical outburst that happen many times a day.
Transient Tic Disorder - Uncontrollable tics that happen many times a day and include:
- clicks
- grunts
- yelps
- barks
- sniffs
- snorts
- coughs
